Job Title: Dentist

We are seeking a skilled Dentist to join our team at Eckerd Youth Alternatives, Inc. DBA Eckerd Connects. As a Dentist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to disadvantaged youth in our Job Corps program.

Job Summary:

The Dentist will work in our dental facility, providing a range of services including early detection and diagnosis of oral health problems, basic oral-health care, dental hygiene, and prevention/education. You will also be responsible for evaluating student concerns, completing dental readiness inspections, and providing elective oral examinations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality dental care to disadvantaged youth, including early detection and diagnosis of oral health problems, basic oral-health care, dental hygiene, and prevention/education.
  • Evaluate student concerns and complete dental readiness inspections.
  • Provide elective oral examinations, including bitewing X-rays, and priority classification.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for students with oral health needs.
  • Provide ongoing oral health education and support to students.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Wellness Director and Center Director to ensure the integration of oral health and wellness services with other center activities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student oral health and wellness services.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Health and Wellness Director and Center Director to discuss oral health and wellness programmatic issues.
Requirements:
  • Must be a licensed Dentist to practice in Iowa.
  • Must have experience working with disadvantaged youth.
  • Job Corps experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and listening.
  • Must have a valid Iowa driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
