Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment within the facility. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of various mechanical systems and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
    • Pneumatics and Hydraulics
    • Pipe Fitting
    • Welding Techniques
    • Pump Operations
    • Machinery Drive Systems
    • Utility Systems: Knowledge of water, oil, natural gas, compressed air, and fire protection systems.
    • Tool Proficiency: Effectively utilize mechanical tools, including hand tools, battery-operated tools, and electric tools, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Safety Awareness: Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety protocols to mitigate hazards in an industrial setting.
  • Maintenance Duties: Perform millwright tasks such as aligning pumps and motors, installing sheaves and belts, and ensuring proper equipment alignment and tension.
  • Bearing Maintenance: Install and maintain bearings as required.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot daily mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support both medium and long-term maintenance and capital projects.
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of critical systems specific to the facility.

Leadership Role:

  • Provide mentorship to junior mechanics.
  • Assist in prioritizing daily tasks and guiding the maintenance team.
  • Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Proficient in using computer software, including Maximo MMS.
  • Ability to work safely around chemicals and in various environmental conditions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in maintenance.

Computer Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with computer systems such as Maximo and basic Windows navigation.
  • Ability to interact positively with colleagues and supervisors in a team-oriented environment.
