About the Position

The University of New Mexico's College of Population Health (COPH) is seeking a highly skilled Biostatistician, Sr. to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting complex analyses of Medicaid claims data to inform state health policy and practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced statistical analyses of Medicaid claims data to identify trends and patterns
  • Develop and implement data visualization tools to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with researchers and policymakers to design and implement studies
  • Provide expert guidance on data management and analysis to junior team members
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest methodologies and technologies in biostatistics and data science
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in biostatistics or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical software packages, including SAS
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Medicaid claims data
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT billing codes
  • Outpatient pharmacy claims knowledge
  • Advanced statistical expertise, including multivariable models
