Aerospace Quality Assurance Manager
OVERVIEW
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Aerospace Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality control and assurance initiatives at our manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will have expertise in chemical and material processing within the aerospace industry, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
This position requires strong leadership capabilities to guide a team of quality professionals and work collaboratively across various departments to achieve operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for ensuring adherence to Poly6's Quality Management System (QMS) to meet customer expectations.
Analyze customer requirements and implement strategies to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FAA, EASA).
Provide coaching and support to engineering and operations teams regarding quality methodologies and appropriate actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT, to address quality challenges and enhance production processes.
Establish and monitor quality metrics and KPIs to assess process performance and initiate corrective actions as needed.
Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts in response to product, process, and audit non-conformances and customer feedback.
Foster a robust culture of quality throughout the organization.
Manage customer and regulatory audits, ensuring positive outcomes and maintaining strong partnerships.
Engage with suppliers to communicate requirements and ensure that materials and services meet specifications.
Report on the performance of the quality management system and identify opportunities for enhancement to senior management.
Champion initiatives aimed at cost reduction, waste minimization, and quality improvement throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
Collaborate with Corporate to identify synergies and areas where Poly6 can contribute in thought leadership, excellence, and innovation.
This is a fully in-person position with the expectation to be physically on-site Monday-Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry and 5+ years of relevant experience; or 10+ years of experience in a related field.
5+ years of quality management experience in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing corrective measures.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Continuous improvement mindset with knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Self-motivated and adept at navigating ambiguity while executing critical project steps.
Must be a hands-on team member capable and willing to perform all quality-related functions.
Strong management and leadership experience, with the ability to communicate effectively across various disciplines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MiniTab, and ERP software.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
7+ years of experience in a technical manufacturing environment, preferably with Aerospace/AS9100 exposure.
Experience in chemical manufacturing, materials processing, and/or additive manufacturing.
Knowledge of GD&T, MSA, and Gage R&R activities.
Experience in conducting audits and managing audit processes, including customer and regulatory audits.
Advanced degree preferred.
