Job Title: Engineering Aide

NV5 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Aide to join our team as a field trainer. As a trainer, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding junior field staff in conducting geotechnical investigations, soil sampling, and site assessments.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site training sessions for junior field staff on various aspects of geotechnical engineering, including soil sampling techniques, field testing procedures, site assessment methodologies, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating geotechnical equipment and provide guidance on interpreting field data and observations.
  • Collaborate with senior geotechnical engineers to develop training materials, including presentations, manuals, and reference guides.
  • Monitor trainee performance during field activities, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, safety regulations, and company policies during training sessions.
  • Assist in the preparation of comprehensive field reports and contribute to the analysis of geotechnical data.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong proficiency in conducting geotechnical investigations, soil sampling, and site characterization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and mentor junior staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a passion for knowledge sharing and team development.
  • Proficiency in using geotechnical equipment and software for data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, with a commitment to safety and quality assurance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
