Maintenance Supervisor

As a key member of our manufacturing team, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our maintenance department, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement of equipment, maintenance systems, and associate training and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Assign and prioritize work to maintenance associates, including work orders and proactive maintenance.
- Collaborate with maintenance associates to identify and obtain resources needed to complete work.
- Follow up on corrective actions, audit results, and ideas.
- Purchase and maintain inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance.
- Improve equipment reliability and uptime by identifying critical spare parts, equipment breakdown investigation, and corrective action implementation.
- Take a proactive approach to equipment issues with a "repair before it breaks" mentality.
- Prevent reoccurring breakdowns by taking a "fix it once and for all" mentality.
- Prioritize schedules and coordinate work to be performed on equipment.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and effectively following Avient standards.
- Maintain the E-Maintenance system and use it as the main communication tool for maintenance purposes.
- Document work completed, including work orders, PM records, equipment information/history, and electronic files.
- Responsible for the maintenance training program, including implementation, ongoing training, improvement, and record keeping.
- Establish maintenance associates' accountability, including training issues, output reasons, and input for performance reviews.
- Responsible for implementing a proactive maintenance program for all plant equipment.
- Enforce, maintain, and implement standardization of parts and equipment.
- Responsible for all activities in the maintenance shop.
- Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
- Position follows, implements, and trains others on applicable safety, health, and environmental rules and guidelines.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
- Perform other projects or duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
- Manufacturing industry experience (plastic industry preferred) - 7 years.
- Supervision/leadership experience - 3 years.
- Manufacturing experience/safety procedures - 7 years.
- Time, organizational skills, and priority management.
- Self-motivated, ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Demands- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is frequently required to walk.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities may require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area.
- Work is inside, and the typical noise level is loud.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
