Position Overview:
MAHEC Dentistry Oral Health is seeking a licensed Oral/Maxillofacial Surgeon in North Carolina to serve as a clinical educator for our General Practice Residents and D4 scholars from the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. This role involves supervising and assisting in surgical procedures that are appropriately challenging for the residents' skill levels. Surgical activities will primarily take place at our clinical site, with potential opportunities at additional locations based on mutual agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and instruction to GPR residents and students from the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
- Deliver patient care on an as-needed basis.
- Conduct patient examinations alongside learners, adhering to training standards and payer agreements.
- Complete necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Be available for consultations with dental hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff.
- Fulfill assigned documentation and worklist tasks as directed by leadership.
- Review and approve notes from residents and students.
- Assist in treatment planning and execution of procedures.
- Remain present in the clinic until all patient care is concluded and patients have departed.
- Engage in faculty meetings and maintain regular communication with faculty and leadership.
