Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate WIC Program Assistant to join our team at Cabarrus Health Alliance. As a key member of our healthcare support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Determine WIC eligibility by assessing income, proof of residence, and identification, and enter information into the WIC Crossroads electronic system
  • Determine participant cycle and issue date as needed; issue eWIC cards, food benefits, and Farmer's Market vouchers
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments
  • Measure weight and height, and perform finger sticks for women, infants, and children applying for WIC
  • Disinfect work surfaces, including sinks, countertops, infant digital scales, and length and height boards after each participant, and daily cleaning of frequently touched surfaces
  • Obtain transfer information for participants transferring into our WIC program and send transfer information to other WIC programs for participants transferring out
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required
  • One year of clerical experience
  • Excellent computer and typing skills
  • Able to secure cooperation of clients, elicit needed information, and maintain effective working relationships

Estimated Salary Range:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on location and experience.
