About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our eBook platform team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions that enable reading innovation across file formats and operating systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support of Java and C++ software across multiple platforms.
* Develop and maintain software solutions that meet the needs of our customers, including Kindle customers on all major mobile platforms.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications.

Requirements:

* 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
* 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
* 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
* Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

* Competitive base pay, ranging from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market.
