Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Summit School District Region 1. The successful candidate will provide a full range of services to students with identified speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students referred for speech and language concerns.
  • Administer and interpret standardized tests and other assessments to identify speech and language disorders.
  • Develop evaluation reports that summarize findings, diagnosis, and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language disorders.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, targeting identified areas of need.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other specialists to support student communication needs in the educational environment.
  • Educate school staff and parents on speech and language development and disorders, as well as strategies to support communication in the classroom and at home.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children in a school setting is highly desirable.
Work Environment

The role primarily takes place in a school setting, which may include classrooms, therapy rooms, and other educational environments. The SLP may need to travel between schools within the district.

Competitive salary based on education and experience. Stipend provided yearly for National Certification prorated for FTE.
