Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in the success of our retail store, overseeing store operations, merchandise assortment, and customer service. This dynamic leader will assist the General Manager in ensuring a seamless shopping experience for all customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Operations: Assist the General Manager in managing store operations, including opening and closing the store, and assuming responsibility for the entire store when the General Manager is out of the building.
  • Merchandise and Sales: Directly supervise the Receiving, Customer Service, Maintenance, and Sales Departments through the Group Sales Managers, ensuring proper merchandise assortment and inventory levels.
  • Customer Service: Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service, ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Leadership and Development: Participate in interviewing and selection, coordinate training, prepare and approve performance appraisals, and recommend merit and promotional increases.
  • Financial Management: Meet or exceed all financial plans as set by the Company, controlling Company assets and financial efficiency by auditing reports, general ledger, electronic journals, physical inventory, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in big box, high-volume management, with responsibility for one or more Sales Departments and Receiving or Front End experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, interpret financial and technical information, write reports and business correspondence, and present information to groups.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
