Position Overview:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in an educational environment plays a crucial role in assessing and addressing students' communication needs. This position involves conducting evaluations and delivering therapy services tailored to each student's individual requirements, as outlined in their care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students' communication abilities, including articulation, fluency, voice, and both expressive and receptive language skills, to identify any communication disorders and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including educators and parents, to share information, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with established guidelines.
- Organize and facilitate meetings for eligible students, such as testing, IEPs, and parent conferences, to present evaluation findings and develop treatment strategies.
- Create and implement treatment plans and educational resources aimed at reducing the impact of communication disorders, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Instruct students in the use of communication technologies, such as hearing aids and augmentative devices, to enhance their communication skills.
- Maintain comprehensive records, including progress reports and treatment plans, to track student progress and comply with documentation requirements.
- Engage in professional development opportunities, including workshops and training sessions, to stay current in the field.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, aiming to improve their communication skills and overall academic success.
Qualifications:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the relevant state is mandatory.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred and may be required based on state or contractual obligations.
- Adherence to all relevant professional standards and practices is essential.
- Completion of Amergis Staffing's competency program may be required.
- Current CPR certification and health documentation as per state regulations are necessary.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess strong communication skills, with proficiency in English required.
- Computer literacy is a must.
Position Details:
- Full-time role
- Serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade
- Dedicated office space provided for the SLP.
