Job Summary

Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a company of Chenega Corporation, is seeking a Family Practice Physician – Locum Tenens to support the Oklahoma IHS in Carnegie, OK.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family medicine and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The physician will be responsible for examining, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for patients, as well as recommending and referring patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchase Referred Care vendors within IHS guidelines.

The successful candidate will be proficient in electronically documenting services using the appropriate electronic medical record system and will complete all required administrative paperwork within 24 hours of patient visit.

The physician will also be responsible for providing consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department health care providers on an as-needed basis and providing physician service and staff urgent care clinic, as needed.

Responsibilities

Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients

Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchase Referred Care vendors within IHS guidelines

Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department health care providers on an as-needed basis

Provide physician service and staff urgent care clinic, as needed

Qualifications

Board Certified in or Board Eligible in Family Practice OR Internal Medicine (ABMS or AOA only)

Permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States

Successful completion of a residency program

Possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that he/she can relate constructively to patients of the Native American communities

Maintain standards of personal hygiene and grooming such that his/her image as a physician is compatible with the expectations of the on-site supervisor
