Salary

The salary for this position will be based on experience, with a competitive range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holiday, vacation and sick time, health insurance partially covered by the company, and up to 4% matching 401(k) plan.

Job Description

We are a high-end construction and property management company seeking a reliable and responsible heavy equipment operator to operate various types of construction equipment such as excavators, front end loaders, dump trucks, skid steers, lull, backhoes, etc. to excavate, move, grade, and load earth.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport it, inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure its in good working order, driving or controlling heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site, monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly, tracking scheduled maintenance of equipment and notifying their supervisor if maintenance is past due, filling out performance records to report problems with equipment and track where and when it was used, cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste, and completing minor repair work as needed.

This is not a seat only position. The successful candidate will have other duties as directed by the superintendent.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A valid CDL license (a plus)
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures used to control heavy equipment
  • Coordination to use all controls on pieces of equipment
  • Possessing enough strength to operate the controls on heavy equipment
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with equipment
  • Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers on the jobsite
  • Basic writing skills to accurately complete reports and other paperwork
  • A good non-commercial driver's license history indicating a habit of safe driving
