Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests in the Courtyard Bistro. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Take beverage orders and prepare/serve guests according to health regulations and local liquor laws.
- Assist with food orders, preparation, and serving as needed.
- Follow CSM/Marriott's high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Respond to guests' needs and provide the highest level of quality service.
- Assist other associates as needed to meet guests' needs.
- Effectively operate micros operating system and cash register.
- Follow all CSM/Marriott cash handling/POS procedures to ensure accurate closing of all guest checks.
- Dispense appropriate levels of alcohol; prepare drinks to recipe and CSM/Marriott standards.
- Responsible for proper use of all equipment and adheres to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
- Consistently checks guests' identification and monitors guests' consumption of alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with state and local liquor laws.
- Responsible for disposal of garbage, picking up trays, re-stocking barware, and clearing/wiping down tables and counter.
- Transfers full tubs to the dish room, and assists as needed with washing barware/dishes.
- Completes all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assists with inventory, completing inventory par sheets, and other responsibilities as needed.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area, and handles all beverage/food in compliance with CSM/Marriott, brand, local, state and federal regulations.
- Assist in maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of the Bistro, kitchen, and dish room.
- Follow all CSM/Marriott procedures for guest/associate incidents. Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
- Completes all required side work, and takes initiative to jump in wherever necessary.
Requirements
- One year prior serving/customer service and bartending experience required.
- Attention to detail, customer focused and the ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to speak, understand, and write English in order to meet guests' needs and complete required paperwork.
Education and Certifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Bartender certification preferred.
- TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired, or the ability to obtain certification as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout shift.
