UH-60 Helicopter Repairer Job Description

The U.S. Army is seeking highly skilled individuals to fill the role of UH-60 Helicopter Repairer. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, ensuring they are safe and ready for operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies, including engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, and mechanical flight controls.
  • Service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed.
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with the aircraft.
Requirements:
  • Be between the ages of 17 and 40.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Submit to background and medical screening.
  • Receive a passing score on the ASVAB.
Training and Development:

Job training for a UH-60 Helicopter Repairer requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with on-the-job instruction. You will learn essential skills, including engine disassembly and repair, repair of aluminum, steel, and fiberglass airframes/coverings, and repair of hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems.

Helpful Skills:
  • Prefers mathematics and shop mechanics.
  • Interest in working with aircraft and engine mechanics.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
