At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Sterile Processing Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective processing of medical equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain department standards to ensure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements, including JCAHO and NJDOH. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to established safety principles and practices.
- Environmental Surveillance: Review and monitor daily environmental surveillance, including temperature and humidity, medical waste disposal, and sterilization logs.
- Infection Control/Patient Safety: Participate in the Infection Control Committee and Patient Safety Committee. Maintain data regarding infection control and patient safety.
- Operating Room (OR) Assistance: Function as a retractor/scope holder in the OR as needed. Perform all duties as expected and maintain sterile technique.
- Process Improvement/Quality: Responsible for improving the quality of patient care and job performance. Participate in and implement unit/department process improvement activities.
- People Management: Manage and/or assist in the recruitment, development, and supervision of team members. Create an environment that fosters team member engagement.
- Data Management and Analytics: Track, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics as needed.
- Financial Management: Involved in the development and/or management of budget for assigned areas.
- Education: High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or a minimum of 4 years of total experience in sterile processing at HMH.
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience in sterile processing.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- Certifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterilization and Processing Distribution (CBSPDT). Certified SPD Supervisor preferred.
