Project Overview:

This initiative focuses on transitioning outdated applications from legacy systems to contemporary Microsoft Server environments. The objective is to assess approximately 150 applications to identify necessary adjustments for modernization, which may encompass alterations, re-platforming, redevelopment, or retirement. Comprehensive testing of all applications using updated technologies is essential prior to the decommissioning of legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the application testing processes for the migration project, ensuring effective transition of legacy applications to modern Microsoft Server setups.
  • Participate in an initial onsite engagement, dedicating three days per week to the project.
  • Following the introductory phase, maintain a presence onsite three days per month, with the possibility of additional days as required.
  • Facilitate both functional and technical discussions to develop detailed test plans and cases based on specified requirements.
  • Design, execute, and manage testing strategies for various applications and technologies involved in the migration.
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to confirm that all applications are thoroughly tested on new technologies before the legacy systems are retired.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and maintain clear communication throughout the testing lifecycle of the project.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in a Senior Application Testing role, with expertise in both manual and automated testing methodologies on comparable projects.
  • Agile Methodology: Significant experience operating within Agile frameworks.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Server 2008 and later, IIS, SQL Server, ASP, and ASP.Net.
  • Capability to develop high-quality test plans and cases derived from functional and technical specifications.
  • Previous experience with BDD scenario testing utilizing SpecFlow (or Cucumber) and Selenium for UI testing in relevant technical environments is highly advantageous, though not mandatory.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to engage in both functional and technical discussions, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with Health and Human Services Agencies is a plus.
  • Additional Technical Skills: Understanding of both legacy and modern Microsoft Server environments, including virtualization technologies.
