Maintenance Technician I

This role supports the FedEx Industrial Maintenance team in completing preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling systems.
The Maintenance Technician I will utilize prescribed processes related to mechanical power transmission, electrical, PLC/controls, welding/fabrication, and other industrial maintenance systems.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting component and systems issues, adhering to safety standards, and promoting a safe work environment.
Additionally, the Maintenance Technician I will participate in smaller scope projects and may be required to work a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling systems
- Utilize prescribed processes related to mechanical power transmission, electrical, PLC/controls, welding/fabrication, and other industrial maintenance systems
- Troubleshoot component and systems issues
- Adhere to safety standards and promote a safe work environment
- Participate in smaller scope projects
- Work a flexible schedule as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum skill requirements
- Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude through background or hobbies in agriculture, automotive, or other technical areas
- Two years of FedEx Operations Sortation equipment knowledge or currently enrolled in a certificate or degree program for Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related discipline
- Related military technical experience and electrical or mechanical trade experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience with mechanical power transmission, electrical, PLC/controls, welding/fabrication, and other industrial maintenance systems
- Ability to solve basic mechanical or electrical problems
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Software skills, including Microsoft Office suite and other web-based applications
- Time management and organizational skills
