Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for procedures, including verifying vital signs, medications, and medical history.
- Provide education to patients and family members, ensuring they understand the procedure and plan of care.
- Insert and remove intravenous lines, access ports, and central venous catheters.
- Administer medications, including moderate sedation.
- Monitor patient patterns and vital signs during procedures.
- Oversee patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
- Circulate or scrub procedures as needed.
- Provide post-procedure monitoring, observing for signs and symptoms of complications.
- Manage patients on ventilators, A-lines, and conscious sedation.
- Monitor patients in MRI with pacemakers placed in conditional mode.
- Assist inpatient nurses with transitioning IV medications.
- Assist with contrast reaction management.
- Educate and support patients undergoing imaging procedures.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current New York registration.
- MUST HAVE CCU – Critical Care experience in a neuro/vascular setting.
- Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Knowledge of current nursing, medical, and health trends and practices in patient care.
- MINIMUM two years of acute care RN experience in Critical Care.
- CCU experience treating neuro or vascular issues.
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS.
