Nuro is a pioneering robotics company that aims to revolutionize everyday life through its cutting-edge autonomous driving technology. Founded in 2016, Nuro has made significant strides in developing a world-class autonomous driving system, the Nuro DriverTM, which combines advanced AD hardware with AI-first self-driving software.
The company has received substantial investments from leading investors, including Fidelity, Bailie Gifford, T. Rowe Price, Google, and others. Nuro has also partnered with prominent brands such as Uber, FedEx, Domino's, Walmart, Kroger, and 7-Eleven.
We are a team of passionate engineers dedicated to creating a positive impact on the future of transportation. Our mission is to identify and address pain points in the engineering process, develop innovative tools and infrastructure, educate engineers on best practices, and leverage cutting-edge technologies to boost productivity.
About the Role:
- Collaborate with engineers across Nuro to identify areas for improvement in the engineering process, defining, instrumenting, analyzing, communicating, and monitoring metrics related to engineering velocity and system health.
- Creatively address day-to-day developer inefficiencies using the best methods available, involving the development of new internal tools, extension of existing tools, or introduction of new tools to the company.
- Design and implement scalable infrastructure that continuously merges, builds, tests, and releases code while balancing coverage, speed, and cost. This requires employing state-of-the-art techniques in areas like build optimization, intelligent test selection, and culprit finding.
- Own and improve fundamental libraries, such as APIs/clients, to interact with complex systems, managing code dependencies (including third-party libraries) and maintaining the structure of Nuro's codebase.
- Educate developers on best practices and new tools, ensuring seamless adoption and integration.
- Leverage Generative AI to enhance engineering productivity and efficiency.
About You:
- You are driven by a passion for making processes more efficient and elegant.
- You possess strong software engineering skills in Python, C++, and/or Go, and have experience with building new tools end-to-end to meet constantly changing developer needs.
- You are committed to software engineering best practices and have a solid understanding of scalable and reliable infrastructure pipelines.
- You value collaboration and strive to create an exceptional user experience.
- You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, and have at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
This role comes with a competitive salary range of $125,400 to $228,000 per year, depending on your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. Additionally, you will be eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Nuro celebrates diversity and is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued and respected. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.
