Position Overview
The primary objective of this role is to execute the essential responsibilities of a nurse in evaluating, planning, directing, and assessing patient care within the Emergency Room setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically plan, prioritize, and deliver proficient nursing care that is appropriate for various age groups and developmental stages, utilizing advanced clinical nursing expertise to ensure patient and family comfort and safety.
- Accurately and consistently document patient information in medical records with clarity and precision.
- Monitor and document signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including the physiological status of patients.
- Propose revisions to care interventions and desired outcomes as necessary.
- Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality of all information and records at all times.
- Execute nursing care in accordance with physician directives.
- Collect laboratory specimens and conduct lab tests following established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Comply with infection control protocols, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques during patient care delivery.
- Facilitate admission, discharge, and transfer processes for patients.
- Engage in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care provided.
- Prepare equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures, assisting with or performing treatments as required, in accordance with legal and institutional policies and nursing standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Conduct all assigned Quality Assessment activities and maintain documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings or other mandatory organizational gatherings as needed.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; BSN is preferred.
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse without any sanctions is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time RN experience in an Emergency Room or equivalent setting is required.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association are required; ENPC certification from ENA may substitute for PALS certification; TNCC certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
