Outpatient Physical Therapy Specialist

Position Overview

As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will deliver therapeutic services to patients in accordance with their individual needs and medical guidance. Your role will include educating patients and caregivers, as well as coordinating the provision of necessary adaptive equipment.

Core Responsibilities

1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine the extent of patient disabilities, setting goals and formulating treatment plans based on professional standards.

2. Develop and implement tailored treatment programs aimed at maximizing patient recovery and functionality.

3. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, adjusting treatment strategies as required to address evolving patient needs.

4. Maintain thorough documentation of patient evaluations and treatments, ensuring compliance with departmental protocols and regulatory requirements.

5. Provide guidance and training to fellow rehabilitation staff, nursing personnel, and students regarding patient care and rehabilitation methodologies.

6. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing patient satisfaction, program development, and service marketing.

7. Demonstrate productivity in line with departmental benchmarks.

8. Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and competency assessments, while innovating patient care practices across diverse populations.


Qualifications
• Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited physical therapy program
• Preferred: Master's Degree
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from ARC or AHA within 90 days of hire
• State licensure as a Physical Therapist in Michigan required upon hire
• Valid Driver's License in Michigan required for Home Care services
• 6 months of relevant experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge and experience in orthopedics is strongly preferred
• Proven history of positive referral relationships is preferred.

Work Environment
