At Chatham Bars Inn, a prestigious Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Hotel located on Cape Cod, we are seeking a skilled Breakfast Cook to contribute to our vibrant culinary team. With a stunning 25-acre oceanfront property, our establishment features 217 luxurious rooms and suites, multiple dining venues, and a plethora of recreational activities. Our culinary philosophy emphasizes creativity and professional growth, sourcing ingredients primarily from our own farm and local suppliers.
The Breakfast Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast dishes across our dining outlets. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the highest quality of food served
- Adhering to standard portion sizes and cooking techniques
- Maintaining food levels at designated stations
- Portioning ingredients according to established recipes
- Keeping a clean and sanitary workspace
- Preparing items for various cooking methods such as broiling and grilling
- Following proper presentation and garnishing techniques
- Correctly handling, storing, and rotating food products
- Completing tasks within designated time frames
- Monitoring and reporting food waste
- Assisting with food preparation during quieter periods
- Properly opening and closing the kitchen following checklists
- Cooking items as per the point-of-sale system
- Assisting with dishwashing and cleaning duties
- Participating in team meetings and providing constructive feedback
- Performing additional duties as required
- Minimum of 2 years culinary experience
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
- Effective communication skills in English
- Basic mathematical abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Capability to remain composed and resolve issues with sound judgment
- Team-oriented mindset
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
- Proficiency in following and adjusting recipes
- Good knife skills and seasoning techniques
- Adherence to all kitchen processes
- Ability to read and interpret orders
