Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Columbine, CO area. This full-time, in-person position for the school year offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the lives of students from Kindergarten through 12th grade with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, counselors, and families to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of students across Kindergarten through 12th grade with learning disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, and other exceptionalities.
  • Utilize a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiated learning approaches to address diverse learning styles and academic needs of students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects (reading, math, writing) aligned with state standards, with a focus on closing learning gaps and promoting academic success for future grade levels or postsecondary plans.
  • Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies into the classroom environment to foster emotional well-being, self-advocacy skills, and positive peer relationships among students.
  • Deliver specialized instruction and support services aligned with each student's IEP goals, focusing on targeted interventions to address specific learning challenges.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of instructional strategies to inform ongoing learning plans for students with special needs.
  • Partner with students and families to set goals and celebrate achievements throughout the school year.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education for students with varying needs across different grade levels.
Multiple Caseload Opportunities:
  • We offer the chance to tailor your position to your experience and expertise. Caseloads may include students in:
    • Kindergarten & First Grade
    • Elementary Grades (2nd-5th)
    • Middle School Grades (6th-8th)
    • High School Grades (9th-12th)
    • Specific needs areas such as Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities (EBD), Developmental Delays

Qualifications:
  • Colorado State Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning theories as they apply to students with diverse needs across various grade levels.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state and federal standards.
  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students with special needs.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, general education teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, and other school staff.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting on student progress.
