About the Role

3M is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Monroe, North Carolina. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve mechanical equipment and components, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, gearboxes, couplings, and power transmission systems.
  • Perform millwright tasks, such as moving equipment and machinery using standard methods of lifting, rigging, hoisting, blocking, skidding, and rolling.
  • Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical equipment, including replacing and wiring motors, replacing fuses, and adjusting micro switches and proximity switches.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on production equipment, material handling equipment, safety devices, and facility utilities, following standard procedures as indicated on PM route sheets or in equipment manuals.
Requirements
  • Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed prior to start).
  • 2 years of Maintenance experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing setting in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Ability to work 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday 3:30pm to 2am, with OT as needed on Fri and/or Sat.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in an engineering-related field (Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or Industrial Maintenance field).
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
