Job Overview

At SmithGroup, we're seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer at SmithGroup, you will play a key role in the design and development of electrical systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm, security, audio/visual, and telecommunications systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering services on small to medium-sized projects, independently revising, reviewing, and coordinating construction documents.
  • Mentor and train junior-level staff members in electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering project design teams to develop innovative solutions for challenging electrical power distribution and lighting systems.

Salary
We offer a competitive salary range of $102,000 to $133,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis.

Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrical engineer designing electrical power distribution and lighting systems for new and renovated healthcare, research lab, higher ed, and other critical building types. LEED AP and Engineering-in-Training certification are preferred, along with proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
