Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist - Certified Hand Therapist to join our team at Eastern Connecticut Health Network. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our occupational therapy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients based on departmental standards and establish individualized, appropriate, measurable goals for each patient.
  • Conduct and modify evaluations based on the patient's symptoms, level of activity, and medical status.
  • Treat patients with the appropriate and acceptable therapeutic exercises (strength, endurance, coordination, and ROM).
  • Administer physical agents (modalities) and manual therapeutic technique to relieve pain and/or attain established goals.
  • Educate patients/families in home exercise programs and/or functional activities in order to maximize independent functional activity.
  • Document in accordance to insurance guidelines and adhere to the department's policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Occupational Therapy with a minimum of a B.S.
  • Holds or is eligible for current Connecticut license.
  • Must be a Certified Hand Therapist.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Personal computer skills and proficiency in the use of Windows-based programs needed for department function.
