Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Intern Grad to join our team at Walgreens. As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, including medication counseling and awareness of drug interactions.
• Ensure the proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company policies.
• Support the efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assist the pharmacy manager in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy financials, inventory management, and customer experience.
• Engage with customers and patients, resolving issues in a timely manner and providing a positive customer experience.
• Develop strong relationships with customers and healthcare providers, promoting the shift of the pharmacy role from transactional to interpersonal.
• Perform pharmacist tasks, including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards.
• Assist with establishing procedures that promote the efficient workflow of the pharmacy, including assigning roles and coordinating activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of information technology associated with pharmacy systems and propose enhancements to further promote productivity.
• Ensure the accurate processing of insurance claims and follow-up with insurance companies and medical providers.
• Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services, including immunizations and other preventive healthcare services.
• Assist and support the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance data and implementing procedures for pharmacy asset protection and inventory management.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with local medical community and participate in community outreach activities.

Requirements:

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
