Role Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) operates within the framework of the nursing process, adhering to the ANA scope of practice. This role emphasizes patient-family centered care, allowing the RN to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and facilitate patient discharge effectively. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality care under the guidance of Nurse Leaders, following Spectrum Health's policies and procedures. Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is expected within five years of hire.
  • For graduates from non-accredited nursing programs, a minimum of one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role is necessary, along with successful completion of the NCLEX exam.
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
  • NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to carry objects over 5 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent sitting, occasional standing and walking.
  • Occasional bending and trunk rotation.
  • Visual acuity to perform essential job functions.

Work Environment

This position is full-time, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week.
