Job Summary:
The Simulation Engineer - Forging Specialist will work in our Engineering department, utilizing computer simulation software to design, test, and improve our manufacturing processes of custom forgings, pipes, fittings, and heat treatment processes.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with a design team to design tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures as required by the production process.
- Utilize computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the fixtures, dies, and products.
- Employ advanced simulation software (DEFORM 3D) to predict and visualize the manufacture design.
- Develop process routers and prototypes of the product to test the design.
- Analyze test data, compare it with the computer simulation, and modify the computer simulation as needed.
- Assist other engineers as required to develop manufacturing routers for the production process.
- Develop control systems and monitor production.
- Support sales and marketing in preparing documentation for project bidding and quoting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
- Experience in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Office, and Excel.
- Industrial or finite-element modeling experience with DEFORM, QFORM, FORGE, or other simulation software is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
- Two years of related experience preferred.
- Experience with DEFORM or other process simulation software.
