Job Summary

Staff Today Inc is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team. As a Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing mental health services to patients in a correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including assessments of criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that reflect the standard of practice.
  • Consult with supervisors, treatment team members, and other healthcare personnel to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document all care provided to patients, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
  • Monitor patient progress using Subjective Assessment Plan Evaluation (SOAPE) FORMATTED PROGRESS NOTES.
  • Apply community standard of practice for the selection and implementation of psychological treatment modalities.
  • Perform mental status exams (MSE) in face-to-face interviews.
  • Examine prior mental health records, institutional charts, probation reports, court records, and other available documents to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Establish collaborative ties with community programs, groups, agencies, board and care homes to develop supportive community relationships.
  • Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender patients.
  • Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services.
  • Participate in IDTT meetings and compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to mental health program requirements.
  • Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearing and other CDCR staff.
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and caretakers to enhance effective treatment delivery.
  • Represent the department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters.
  • Maintain order and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the correctional facility to prevent escapes or injury.
  • Give input and help implement new programs for the treatment, training, or rehabilitation of patients.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-year previous working experience within the last 36 months (3yrs) as a Psychologist.
  • Must be proficient in the English language and be able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association).
  • Must have the required licenses, permits, and/or certifications in the state of CA.
