Job Summary:

MedStar Health is seeking a licensed physical therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our Neurorehab Center. The ideal candidate will have professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients and families of diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides evaluation services, including review of historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results.
  • Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to patients and families, incorporating their input in goal setting.
  • Implements treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, patient presentation, and evolving healthcare environment.
  • Consults with other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Recognizes and documents changes in patient condition, modifying the plan of care and/or seeking medical/rehabilitation consultation when necessary.
  • Completes discharge planning and follow-up care.
  • Accurately and timely documents and charges for patient care activities, considering the evolving healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations, managing an accurate schedule.
  • Provides frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in a patient-centered environment.
  • Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
  • Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure required, as deemed necessary for the specific location(s).
  • American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.

Compensation: $72,758 - $123,260
