Nursing Assistant

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team in Maplewood, St. Paul. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Provide resident-centered care, including daily living assistance, bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing/undressing.
- Assist with basic health care needs, including vital sign collection, range of motion exercises, and passive exercises.
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages, creating a positive dining experience for residents.
- Document resident interactions, outcomes, and care-related concerns/responses.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain a clean and operational living environment.
- Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits.
