Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Model Maker to join our Engineering Lab team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will work on designing, testing, and manufacturing HVAC equipment for the light commercial and residential markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate sheet metal and copper parts based on engineering specifications.
  • Operate and maintain fabrication equipment, including Press Brake, Amada, etc.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all parts meet specifications and standards.
  • Perform repairs and modifications to existing components as needed.
  • Follow established safety procedures, conduct audits, and maintain a clean work area.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent combined with vocational technical training in Sheet Metal Fabrication.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and skills in sheet metal fabrication, preferably in HVAC or related industries.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, fabrication machinery, and capable of operating a forklift.
  • Ability to lift equipment, compressors, units, motors, sheet metal parts etc. up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, as well as general computer proficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skill.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations - percentages, fractions, average, geometric calculations, etc.
