  • Manage a team of software development engineers to deliver high-quality products and platforms.
  • Grow the career development of software development engineers, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Lead regular checkpoints with software development engineers, including code reviews and daily standups.
  • Successfully manage software development engineers using best-in-industry software engineering tools and processes.
  • Be responsible for the overall technical design strategy and details to deliver against customer needs.
  • Manage the process of product delivery end-to-end and teams deliverables.
  • Drive the team to deeply understand customer needs and creatively design, build, and deliver solutions.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Technical Program Managers around design and delivery of product functionality.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the business and customer value of new initiatives.
  • Leverage tradeoffs among aspects of the code base, such as efficiency versus maintainability.
  • Drive the team to diagnose and identify the root cause of problems with existing software.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technology or scientific field OR 5 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant job experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of overseeing engineers and/or their work.
  • Experience with modern full-stack software applications both built or off the shelf.
  • Experience documenting technical systems, user workflows, and user requirements.
  • Experience with traditional IT infrastructure as well as the Cloud, preferably AWS.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters' degree in computer science or other related technology discipline.
  • Two or more years management of direct people management experience.
  • Experience communicating with application users to understand and collect their requirements and requests.
  • Experience working in life sciences, pharma/biotech, or high-tech industries with a preference for experience in the Cloud and digital infrastructure.
