We are seeking a highly skilled PSM Specialist to join our team at Saputo. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and compliance of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP programs.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain the integrity of the plant's ammonia and related cooling process systems.
- Provide technical support and assistance in troubleshooting refrigeration system problems.
- Develop and implement plans for future improvements to the refrigeration system.
- Provide training and guidance on PSM/RMP related topics as required.
- Perform routine inspections and reviews of maintenance on the system to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Review program elements regularly to maintain accuracy and update as needed.
- Hold regular meetings and communicate results to plant and Refrigeration Services team.
- Work with approved contractors and/or internal resources to perform audits, maintenance, and inspections on the system.
- Educate and train personnel on program aspects, including hazard recognition, incident investigation, mechanical integrity inspections, and addressing gaps.
- Work with Saputo's Refrigeration Services team to implement corporate program management aspects.
- Lead incident investigation activities related to ammonia systems, including report completion and communication to the plant, Refrigeration Services, and other corporate groups.
- Provide technical support for the plant maintenance supervisor/manager in PSM & RMP and participate on teams/projects as needed.
- Develop a system for addressing identified deficiencies from audits, inspections, or service work, including working with APSM software to log action items and track them to completion.
- Maintain a working knowledge and oversight of refrigeration systems, PSM (14 elements), RMP, applicable state and federal rules and regulations, and applicable refrigeration codes and standards.
- Provide direction and expertise to facility management to ensure PSM and RMP requirements are met.
- Participate in routine Saputo Refrigeration Services team & PSM Specialists conference calls.
- Provide guidance and support during agency inspections as the program area technical subject matter expert.
- Support Saputo Refrigeration Services, Health & Safety, Risk Management, and Environmental Department initiatives and work closely with key personnel from these departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Safety Management, Industrial Risk Management, or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 2 or more years of relevant experience in food/dairy manufacturing preferred.
- Familiarity with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems, PSM, RMP, process instrumentation, and process drawings preferred.
- Ability to develop relationships and effectively influence at all levels internally and externally.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with broad-based business acumen and experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, prioritization, time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, project, and manufacturing software.
