Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled maintenance technician specializing in custom profile plastic extrusion. This role involves hands-on repair and upkeep of various production machinery, including extruders and saws. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with industrial electrical systems and pneumatics. Experience with PLCs, CMMS software, and manufacturing settings is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on physical structures, buildings, and grounds.
  • Perform painting, masonry work, and manage plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Install and service electrical conduits, water, and air lines.
  • Handle the installation of appliances, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools effectively.
  • Follow detailed instructions and complete necessary documentation.
  • Assist senior mechanics and carry out assigned tasks.
  • Seek assistance for issues beyond your expertise.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support maintenance activities for injection molding equipment.
  • Engage in various plant projects related to injection molding.

Performance Expectations:

  • Work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Accept responsibility and adhere to instructions.
  • Comply with safety regulations and requirements.

Position Type and Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday; Shift: 2nd (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
  • Overtime may be required based on production demands and projects.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in maintenance trades is beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial electrical systems are necessary.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers is preferred.
  • Pneumatic system knowledge is a plus.

Skills Required:

  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Basic proficiency in mathematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments.

Certifications:

  • Mechanical certification is preferred.
  • Industrial electrical certification is preferred.
  • PLC certification is preferred.
  • Hydraulic/pneumatic certification is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Work in a production environment with physical demands.
  • Perform tasks on concrete surfaces.
  • Exposure to elements typical of a manufacturing environment.
