Job Title: Insurance Risk Manager

At Digital Realty, we are seeking an experienced Insurance Risk Manager to join our Legal/Risk team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the effective and efficient management of our global insurance program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor the company's hazard risk profile
  • Provide input into and support for a strategy to manage the company's hazard risk profile
  • Recommend insurance and related products and services
  • Establish and maintain relationships with insurance brokers and other external providers
  • Support the placement and renewal of insurance coverages
  • Administer programs for surety bonds and construction insurance
  • Manage insurance claims and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the global planning, budgeting, allocation, and control of insurance coverages
  • Process and pay invoices for the global insurance program
  • Support the governance and operation of our self-insurance vehicle (captive)
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures from due diligence to integration
  • Review and advise on contractual provisions related to hazard risk and insurance
  • Collect certificates of insurance with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of professional risk management experience at a global publicly traded company, global real estate advisory/investment companies, or insurance company/broker
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong verbal, analytical, presentation, writing, team building, problem-solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, project management, and leadership skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, & Sharepoint)
  • Self-starter with sound judgment and ability to make decisions and follow through to achieve objectives with limited oversight
