Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Guthrie. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Conduct routine reviews of inventory to ensure adequate quantities are available to meet patient needs. Perform accurate cycle counts and ensure safe storage of all medications according to manufacturer recommendations and established practices.
  • Safe Medication Distribution: Stock automated dispensing cabinets, utilize medication safety tools, and participate in routine medication distribution activities to ensure accurate and timely delivery of medications to nursing units and procedural areas.
  • Sterile Compounding: Prepare intravenous admixtures and other sterile products using aseptic technique, maintain compliance with established 797 requirements, and ensure timely completion of all required documentation.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in audits and other evaluation techniques to monitor regulatory compliance, complete competency and skill assessment requirements, and identify areas for quality improvement.
  • Employee Engagement: Actively participate in orientation, education, and training programs, demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, and assist in the training and development of new staff.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred but not required for hire
  • Previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
