About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others. As a Caregiver, you will be tasked with assisting residents with their daily needs, including activities of daily living, ambulation, and personal care. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, adhering to health and safety protocols, and ensuring that residents' rights are respected at all times.
Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers, and ambulation
- Encouraging residents to participate in planned activities and events
- Serving meals and assisting with mealtime as needed
- Providing laundry services and cleaning residents' rooms on a weekly basis
- Practicing safety procedures and reporting incidents, accidents, and injuries to management
- Completing training and orientation requirements and attending in-service training sessions
- Reporting changes in residents' status to the charge nurse
- Maintaining local and state certification, if applicable
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be physically able to lift 50 pounds, and have the ability to read, write, and follow written instructions. You must also present a neat, clean, and professional appearance and demonstrate a positive and cheerful attitude towards colleagues and residents.
Working Conditions
You will be working in a fast-paced environment, exposed to hazardous chemicals and infectious substances. During winter weather, you may be required to work in inclement conditions.
