Unit Overview:
3W Cardiology is a specialized 20-bed acute care nursing unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients undergoing Interventional Cardiovascular procedures as well as those with general Cardiology needs.
Procedural Care:
Our team is proficient in managing a variety of procedures including Left and Right heart catheterizations, ablations, and the insertion of pacemakers and defibrillators. We also focus on the care of patients undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and those with heart failure, serving as a secondary unit for patients requiring Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Work Schedule:
This position requires working night shifts, with a commitment to providing high-quality care during these hours.
Role Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II is responsible for delivering individualized, goal-oriented patient care to both patients and their families. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe and effective care while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Nursing degree is preferred. Registered Nurses hired on or after July 1, 2013, with an Associate or Diploma in nursing must enroll in an accredited BSN program within two years and complete the degree within four years of hire or reclassification.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse is required.
Licensure and Certifications:
Applicants must hold a valid registered nurse license from the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required, which can be obtained through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving patients, as well as working rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
