Healthcare Support Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate healthcare professional to join our Allergy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent patient care and supporting the clinical team in various administrative and clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including examination rooms, procedure rooms, and instrument processing room.
- Cleaning and sterilizing instruments, as well as maintaining diagnostic equipment.
- Instructing patients on proper preparation for diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Performing medical assisting procedures under the supervision of a physician or as delegated.
- Taking vital signs and recording patient history.
- Evaluating new patient charts prepared by the front desk.
- Responding to incoming phone calls, assisting with patient callbacks, and calling in prescriptions under the direction of the RN/MD.
- Welcoming patients and escorting them to clinical areas.
- Managing the electronic health record (EHR) system and setting alerts and flags.
- Providing education and instructions to patients upon discharge, reviewing handouts with them.
- Supporting other clinical team members with patient care activities.

- A competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year.

Requirements:
- A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with GE-Centricity practice management software and EHR is beneficial but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to operate a computer, basic office equipment, and a multi-line telephone system.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques.
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
Location:
Columbus Float. Work hours: Mondays-Fridays, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., occasional overtime required.
