At Avamere at Pacific Ridge, we're seeking a highly skilled Staff Development and Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents and staff.

About the Role

This position will be responsible for ensuring that employees receive comprehensive compliance training and education to perform their job responsibilities effectively. You'll also oversee the competency evaluation process for new clinical department personnel, recommending progression to permanent employment or extending the orientation/probationary period as needed.

Additionally, you'll plan, organize, and implement ongoing education and training programs for licensed nurses, nursing assistants, unit clerks, and other ancillary personnel to promote quality care consistent with services provided by the center. You'll work closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to review the Clinical Admission Grid and service lines to identify applicable advanced/as-needed competencies required for clinical personnel.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to conduct certification or training programs for Nursing Assistants to prepare them for state certification/competency exams. You'll also provide hands-on instruction and coaching to licensed and unlicensed personnel, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide exceptional care.

Requirements
  • A Graduate degree in Nursing (RN) from an accredited school
  • An active license as a RN in the state employed
  • Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred
  • IV Instructor Certification preferred
  • Certified Infection Control Nurse preferred
  • ACLS certification preferred
Experience

We're looking for a candidate with three (3) years of nursing experience, including one (1) year in a skilled nursing facility. Your expertise and passion for delivering high-quality patient care will make you an excellent fit for this role.
