Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Cedar Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in Tacoma, WA. As a key member of our medical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering whole person care.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse to support our clinic in providing individualized care to patients with opioid use disorder. The successful candidate will work under the direction of our Clinic Medical Director and participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients
  • Share responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in the clinic setting
  • Participate in case conferences and share knowledge, information, and ideas among team members
  • Record information concisely, accurately, and completely
  • Order medical supplies, maintain a proper inventory, and record use as per regulations
  • Administer/dispense medications/vaccines in accordance with applicable regulations and policy
  • Ensure treatment plans are being followed
  • Administer and interpret the Mantoux test
  • Proficiency in point-of-care testing
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and medication dosage/interactions
  • Maintain all medical records, including individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, and doctor's orders
  • Notify patients of lab results at the direction of the provider
  • Submit referrals for specialized care at local health centers and follow-up on patient attendance and treatment
  • Assist in organizing transfers of patients to and from the program
  • Other related responsibilities include assisting in training staff in medical matters and patient care, attendance at professional meetings as required, assistance of the Physician during physical examinations, maintenance of the dispensing room, and maintenance of medical equipment
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a certified LVN/LPN program
  • Active LVN/LPN license in good standing
  • Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the Board of Licensure and organizational needs
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic life support
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening
  • Ability to provide health and TB clearance
  • Licensure in good standing and adherence to all applicable laws and regulations
Preferred Requirements:
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS
  • 2 years of recent/previous work experience in a substance use disorder setting
