Position Overview
The selected candidate will serve as a faculty member within the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry.
The individual will develop and implement training and educational initiatives within the Behavioral Health Workforce Center (BHWC) and will engage in research activities.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching (40%)
- Design and enhance training programs for professionals in behavioral health and leadership roles within the BHWC.
- Engage in educational and departmental retreats.
Administration (30%)
- Attend monthly faculty meetings for the Department of Psychiatry.
- Contribute to workgroups related to the BHWC, residency, clerkship, and other faculty responsibilities.
- Present at relevant conferences concerning the BHWC, residency, clerkship, and other faculty duties.
- Participate in committees for the Department or School of Medicine as assigned.
- Fulfill additional administrative tasks as required.
Service (25%)
- Engage with the community regarding programs for behavioral health trainees or the BHWC across Illinois.
- Assist in the design of clinical educational programs for behavioral health trainees statewide.
- Contribute to the development of grand rounds and curriculum design.
Research (5%)
- Establish and pursue research initiatives independently or in collaboration with colleagues or external agencies as necessary.
Qualifications
- PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related field by the time of hire.
- Experience working with multicultural populations; familiarity with the needs of underrepresented minority groups is essential.
