Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Nurse - Women's Health position is located in Specialty Care at the Bedford campus. This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week.

About the Position

This position is responsible for providing care and counseling of persons or in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process which includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgement, and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems.

Responsibilities
  • Plays an integral role in the Woman's Health Team by providing patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management.
  • Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based specialty care to patients with oversight of licensed nursing personnel as appropriate to the clinic setting.
  • Integrates specialty care knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex outpatient situations.
  • Validates understanding of the rationale for specialty care processes and decisions and questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage competing priorities by demonstrating competence in specialty care practices and decision-making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills.
  • Identifies and care manages women's health patients via face-to-face visits, virtual video connects, secure messaging and telephone calls.
  • Understands and responds to mammography reports, BIRADS, Pap, and other women's health screening/diagnostic test results.
  • Review and update approved clinical reminder health screenings.
  • Knowledge of reusable medical instruments.
  • Procedures performed but not limited to: Pap smear and pelvic exam Colposcopy with and without biopsy Nexplanon insertion and removal IUD insertion and removal Vulvar biopsy
