Job Title: Licensed Practical NurseJob Summary:

Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Orthopedic and Rheumatology team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our mission to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring patient conditions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Assist with contracts, analytics, and financial modeling to ensure effective managed care operations.
  • Ensure compliance with negotiated contracts and resolve payment issues with insurance payors.
  • Act as a liaison between physician offices and insurance payors to facilitate communication and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate tracking logs and documentation for insurance payor issues and accountability.
  • Oversee the PHO phone line, answering and responding to inquiries, and assisting with urgent physician office issues.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality records.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York or New Jersey.
  • Basic knowledge of orthopedic and outpatient care, as well as a working knowledge of processes involved in physician practices.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical, psychological, and environmental demands of the LPN role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual skills.
  • Certifications in areas such as BLS or other relevant certifications.
Work Environment:

This role will be based in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise.
