POSITION SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance Technician II plays a crucial role in supporting all production and facility machinery, collaborating with teams to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on various equipment. This position is also responsible for executing process enhancement initiatives and ensuring the facility is maintained to the highest standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Industrial Maintenance Technician II should possess the foundational skills of the Maintenance Technician I, along with a minimum of two years of relevant maintenance experience. Proficiency in the following additional competencies is required:
- Executing initial pump and motor alignments, as well as realignments.
- Identifying and applying correct pipe flange torque specifications.
- Replacing mechanical seals in centrifugal pumps.
- Managing digital and written work permits, including hot work and pipe breaks.
- Conducting material take-offs for mechanical and electrical projects.
- Performing copper tube fittings with solder or ProPress connections.
- Executing stainless steel tube fittings with compression connections.
- Drilling and tapping threaded holes in various metals including aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
- Carrying out oil changes on gearboxes and similar equipment.
- Repairing and finishing drywall.
- Unwiring and rewiring electric motors, including verifying rotation.
- Installing conduit and pulling wire for electrical systems.
- Measuring and adjusting chiller glycol concentrations.
- Replacing and repairing ANSI chains.
- Conducting gas and liquid leak detection after service installations or repairs.
- Rebuilding AOD pumps, both air and liquid sides.
- Replacing soft goods in ball valves.
- Utilizing plant HMI for data collection and troubleshooting.
- Installing and removing ball bearings in rotating assemblies.
- Replacing progressive cavity mechanical seals or rebuilding stators.
- Threading stainless and carbon steel piping.
- Planning and executing process improvement projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Performing facility repairs including plumbing, low voltage electrical work, and carpentry.
- Completing other assigned tasks as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 years of related experience or equivalent qualifications.
- Previous experience in industrial manufacturing, particularly with rotating equipment.
- Experience with 240V-480V industrial electrical installations is highly preferred.
- Knowledge in plumbing, piping, basic electrical work, carpentry, and industrial maintenance.
- Machining and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions, as well as operate a range of powered industrial vehicles.
- Demonstrated versatility, flexibility, and a positive attitude towards changing priorities.
- Proficient computer skills, including the ability to create spreadsheets in Excel and prepare documents in Word.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to all safety requirements.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and effective time management skills.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates within a manufacturing warehouse setting. Employees may frequently encounter moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and potential electrical hazards. The noise level in this environment is typically loud, and ear protection is mandatory.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with shift-based hours.
TRAVEL
Local travel may be necessary for offsite storage facilities and suppliers.
OVERTIME
Overtime may be required based on plant and company needs, but is not guaranteed.
COMPENSATION
Compensation for this position is determined by experience, education, skill level, and other relevant factors.
