As a Facilities Maintenance Technician at Sterling Engineering Inc., you will be responsible for executing both general and preventive maintenance tasks for various equipment and facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency of our manufacturing environment.
Compensation: $27-40/hr (Based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance and servicing.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on shop machinery.
- Perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems of production and auxiliary equipment.
- Address emergency repairs of production machinery as needed and conduct scheduled maintenance during machine downtimes.
- Adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule for molding equipment, ensuring compliance with daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual requirements.
- Maintain general upkeep of facilities and perform necessary building repairs.
- Fabricate equipment components as required.
- Replace electrical components such as fuses and switches; install and upgrade lighting systems.
- Utilize basic electrical standards and testing equipment effectively.
- Engage in basic robotic programming tasks.
- Assist in resolving technical issues during automated machinery production runs.
- Provide training on assembly machines and robotic setups.
- Prepare machinery for scheduled production activities as needed.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates with an accredited two-year technical degree or a four-year degree in a related field.
- Proven mechanical skills, including troubleshooting and repairing production machinery across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Basic knowledge of ladder logic or PLC programming is advantageous.
- Familiarity with safety protocols in a workplace setting.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, with the capability to fabricate components.
